SHARE A LUCKY MEAL PROGRAM

“Share a Lucky Meal” is a flagship social nutrition initiative aligned with Monde Nissin Corporation’s sustainability commitment. In partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and local government social welfare departments, this 120-day supplemental feeding program provided nutritious meals to preschoolers in underserved communities. The program directly supported the company’s sustainability priorities: enhancing product nutrition, uplifting people through better health outcomes, and leveraging impactful partnerships for social development.

“Share a Lucky Meal” is a 120-day supplementary feeding program funded by the Lucky Me! Instant Noodles brand of Monde Nissin Corporation, in partnership with social development NGO Philippine Business for Social Progress. The program is in support of the governments Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program, aiming to address hunger and food security among Filipino children.

Seven Child Development Centers (CDCs) were chosen beneficiaries: four CDCs from Barangay Pineda in Pasig City, Manila and three CDCs from Barangay Caingiosa City, Laguna. A total of 437 children at these CDCs were provided nutritionally balanced hot meals and other supplementary food including some Monde products during the program. Monitoring was done throughout the course of the program tracking the weight and height of each child.
Overall, 3 out of every 4 children (78%) experienced an increase in height. This translates to a total of 325 children who recorded an average height increase of +4.76 cm from baseline to endline. The remaining 92 children (22%) maintained their height from the beginning to the end of the program.

This program demonstrates Monde Nissin’s commitment to Making Better Possible® for people and the planet. In particular its people pillar by addressing malnutrition, reducing hunger, and supporting early childhood development in vulnerable communities’ key impacts under SDG 2: Zero Hunger. Additionally, the initiative involved cooperation and partnership between private companies, NGO’s and the government consistent with SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals in using a multi-stakeholder approach to addressing complex challenges.
