Board of Governors Meeting
At the Board of Governors Meeting held in the morning of Day One, WINA Chairman proposed to set "WINA Value Food Charter." Governor-companies discussed his proposal and presented constructive opinions such as "the definition and advantage of 'complete meal' and 'Nutri-noodle' must be clearly presented," "a guideline for nutritional aspect of instant noodles shall be established," "the industry should publicize scientific and technical evidence-based information." Also, the Governors exchanged their views about the WINA product inspection service.
Day One started with the opening address by WINA Chairman, Koki Ando, which was followed by the keynote lecture by Dr. Shaw Watanabe, a renowned scholar of nutritional science. Then, the conference attendees made a visit to NISSIN Global Food Safety Institute.
On Day Two, four presentations were given under the themes of future possibility of instant noodles as nutritional food, food safety, and risk communication, which were followed by active discussion.
In his summary speech, WINA Chairman Koki Ando proposed "WINA Value Food Charter," and it was approved by the attendees. From now on, based on the charter, WINA member-companies will jointly engage in the activities to make instant noodles a value food.
